DSI Expands European Legal Network Through Strategic Meeting in Poland

Warsaw, Poland | CYBERNUSANTARA1.ID — The Indonesian Dispute Board (IDB) / Dewan Sengketa Indonesia (DSI) continued strengthening its international legal engagement across Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary with a strategic meeting held in Warsaw on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, between the Polish Arbitration Association and DSI.

The meeting marked a significant milestone in DSI’s broader international mission aimed at enhancing cross-border dispute resolution cooperation and reinforcing Indonesia’s presence within the global arbitration community.

Strengthening International Arbitration Cooperation

Representatives of the Polish Arbitration Association welcomed the Indonesian delegation and expressed optimism about the prospects of long-term institutional collaboration.

“Indonesia plays an increasingly important role in the Asian economic landscape. Establishing closer ties with the Indonesian Dispute Settlement Council opens new opportunities for professional exchange, capacity building, and the promotion of high arbitration standards,” a representative of the Association stated.

They emphasized that cooperation between arbitration institutions contributes directly to investor confidence and legal predictability in international trade.

“Global commerce requires reliable and neutral dispute resolution mechanisms. Strengthening cooperation with DSI supports the development of transparent, efficient, and internationally aligned arbitration practices,” the Association added.

Legal Diplomacy and Economic Confidence

President of the Indonesian Dispute Settlement Council, Prof. Sabela Gayo, S.H., M.H., Ph.D., CPL., CPCLE., ACIArb., CPM., CPArb., CPLI., underscored that the European visit reflects Indonesia’s strategic legal diplomacy agenda.

“This international engagement is designed to position Indonesia as a credible and globally connected dispute resolution hub. By building institutional bridges with European arbitration bodies, we aim to promote mutual recognition, knowledge exchange, and professional collaboration,” Prof. Sabela said.

He highlighted that cooperation with the Polish Arbitration Association is particularly significant given Poland’s growing role within the European Union’s economic framework.

“Our objective is to ensure that Indonesian businesses operating in Europe—and European investors entering Indonesia—have access to dispute resolution systems that are credible, independent, and internationally respected,” he explained.

Prof. Sabela further noted that dispute resolution institutions play a central role in sustainable economic growth.

“A strong arbitration ecosystem enhances legal certainty, which in turn strengthens investor trust. Through this mission, DSI contributes to reinforcing Indonesia’s reputation as a secure and reliable destination for international investment,” he concluded.
