Warsaw, Poland | CYBERNUSANTARA1.ID — The Indonesian Dispute Board (IDB) / Dewan Sengketa Indonesia (DSI) continued its high-level international mission across Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary with a strategic engagement at the International Mediation Center in Poland on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, in Warsaw.
The meeting forms part of DSI’s broader legal diplomacy initiative aimed at reinforcing Indonesia’s position within the global dispute resolution ecosystem, particularly in mediation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). The dialogue highlighted institutional cooperation, professional exchange, and the development of internationally aligned mediation standards to support cross-border commercial stability.

Strengthening Global Mediation Collaboration
Representatives of the International Mediation Center in Poland welcomed the Indonesian delegation and expressed strong interest in establishing structured and long-term cooperation.
“Indonesia’s growing engagement in international dispute resolution reflects a progressive and forward-looking legal strategy,” a representative of the Center stated. “We believe collaboration between our institutions will contribute significantly to enhancing mediation standards, professional training, and cross-border dispute management.”
The Center emphasized that mediation plays an increasingly vital role in resolving complex international disputes efficiently and cost-effectively.
“In today’s globalized economy, businesses seek dispute resolution mechanisms that are flexible, neutral, and enforceable. Institutional cooperation with DSI supports the development of mediation frameworks that meet international expectations,” the representative added.

President of the Indonesian Dispute Settlement Council, Prof. Sabela Gayo, S.H., M.H., Ph.D., CPL., CPCLE., ACIArb., CPM., CPArb., CPLI., underscored that the meeting represents a strategic milestone in Indonesia’s legal diplomacy.
“This engagement is not merely ceremonial; it is part of Indonesia’s structured effort to integrate our dispute resolution institutions into the global network of arbitration and mediation bodies,” Prof. Sabela stated.
He stressed that mediation has become a cornerstone of modern commercial dispute resolution.
“A strong mediation ecosystem enhances legal certainty, reduces litigation burdens, and strengthens investor confidence. Through collaboration with the International Mediation Center in Poland, we aim to elevate Indonesia’s mediation standards to be fully aligned with international best practices,” he explained.
