PRAGUE | CYBERNUSANTARA1.ID — The Indonesian Dispute Board (Dewan Sengketa Indonesia/DSI) continued its international outreach across Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Croatia as part of its International Visit on Friday, 6 February 2026, reinforcing Indonesia’s growing role in global legal diplomacy and international dispute resolution.
A key highlight of the visit was a high-level meeting in Prague with JUDr. Juraj Szabo, Ph.D., President of the Arbitration Court attached to the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic. The meeting served as a strategic forum for exchanging perspectives on arbitration practices, institutional cooperation, and the evolving landscape of cross-border commercial dispute resolution.

JUDr. Juraj Szabo, Ph.D., welcomed the Indonesian delegation and emphasized the importance of strengthening international legal networks.
“Indonesia’s initiative through the Dispute Settlement Council reflects a strong commitment to advancing arbitration and alternative dispute resolution in line with international standards,” he stated.
He further highlighted the value of institutional dialogue.
“Direct engagement between arbitration institutions allows us to share best practices, enhance professional standards, and respond more effectively to the complexities of international trade and investment disputes,” Szabo noted.
According to him, cooperation between arbitration bodies plays a crucial role in supporting economic relations.
“Reliable dispute resolution mechanisms are fundamental to investor confidence. Collaboration between our institutions contributes to legal certainty and mutual trust for businesses operating across borders,” he added.

Meanwhile, President of the Indonesian Dispute Board, Prof. Sabela Gayo, S.H., M.H., Ph.D., CPL., CPCLE., ACIArb., CPM., CPArb., CPLI., underscored that the international visit forms part of Indonesia’s broader legal and economic diplomacy.
“This international mission is designed to introduce Indonesia’s dispute resolution capacity to global partners while strengthening institutional cooperation with leading arbitration bodies,” Prof. Sabela explained.
He emphasized that the engagement in Prague carries strategic significance for Indonesia’s legal ecosystem.
“By engaging with established arbitration institutions in Europe, DSI aims to enhance knowledge exchange, institutional development, and mutual recognition in dispute settlement practices,” he said.
Prof. Sabela also stressed the relevance of the visit to investment sustainability.
“A credible, independent, and internationally connected dispute resolution system is essential to a healthy investment climate. Through this cooperation, DSI contributes to reinforcing Indonesia’s position as a secure and trustworthy destination for international investment,” he concluded.
The international visit reflects DSI’s commitment to fostering constructive global partnerships and promoting a modern, transparent, and cooperative dispute resolution framework—supporting not only legal development, but also long-term economic collaboration between Indonesia and its international partners.
